On July 29th, 2020, Fundación CorpArtes and Storyboard Media announced the Program for the last edition of Santiago International Film Festival, which, and for the first time in its history, will be carried out 100% digitally, between the 16th and the 23rd of August, 2020.
The Festival will feature 84 productions, 21 world premieres, 32 at the Latin American premiers, and 31 national premieres, highlighting the participation of various personalities and actors from the national and international audiovisual environment.
As of August 10, 2020, the activity registry will be available through www.sanfic.com, in order to access all the audiovisual productions present at the festival. Films will have a maximum capacity of 600 views, and SANFIC Educa will have a number of 1,200 views.
Activities to be carried out before and during the festival include, among others, meetings with various audiovisual producers, conversation panels with top-level experts on relevant themes, such as the gender perspective in the film industry, its relationship with the education, meetings with artists, such as Paulina García, winner of the Oso de Plata in 2013, Premio Platino for Best Female Performance in the film “Gloria”, as well as the Spanish director Álvaro Longoria, winner of the Goya award, for his film “Children of the Clouds”, among other first-rate guests, among other celebrities.
Nine of the activities will be free of charge and open to the public, seeking to create an approach between the public and the community, in the dialogue in connection to the film industry, and the challenges that filmmakers from different parts of the world face today. Comunidad SANFIC will also be an open space for dialogue related to creative processes and other issues in the audiovisual market.
The programming for this edition includes the categories Competencia en Cortometraje Talento Nacional, Competencia de Cine Chileno, Competencia Internacional, SANFIC Educa, categoría Visiones del mundo, Función Especial, sección Maestros del Cine, and Directoras en Foco.
This edition of the festival will take place, between August 16th and August 23th, 2020, and will be available for Access, for free, from anywhere in the country, through the website www.sanfic.com.
